UNITAR CIFAL Jeju International Training Center hosted the UNFCCC-CASTT Adaptation Academy in Asia and the Pacific 2025 from 25 to 29 August 2025. The workshop brought together 20 officials from 13 countries working in the areas of climate change adaptation and transparency reporting. Participants received technical support on drafting Biennial Transparency Reports (BTRs) and gained insights from Korea’s experiences in adaptation initiatives and BTR preparation.
In addition, participants took part in adaptation-related site visits across Jeju. The key focus of this year’s Academy was peer-to-peer learning, providing participants with opportunities to share and review their experiences from the first Adaptation BTR submissions for deeper understanding and practical insights. The Academy further strengthened participants’ capacities in climate adaptation reporting, enabling them to effectively utilize the UNFCCC’s adaptation reporting frameworks and institutional arrangements.

유엔훈련연구기구(UNITAR) CIFAL 제주국제훈련센터는 지난 8월 25일부터 29일까지 ‘UNFCCC-CASTT 아시아·태평양 적응 아카데미 2025’를 개최했다. 이번 워크숍에는 기후변화 적응 및 투명성 보고 분야에서 활동하는 13개국 20명의 정부 관계자들이 참여했다. 참가자들은 격년 투명성 보고서(BTR, Biennial Transparency Report) 초안을 작성하는 데 필요한 기술적 지원을 받았으며, 한국의 기후변화 적응 정책과 BTR 작성 경험을 직접 배우는 시간을 가졌다.
또한 제주의 주요 적응 관련 현장을 방문해 현장 중심의 학습을 이어갔다. 올해 아카데미의 핵심 주제는 ‘참가자 간 상호 학습(Peer-to-Peer Learning)’으로, 각국이 처음 제출한 적응 BTR 사례를 공유하고 검토하며 실질적인 통찰을 얻는 데 초점을 맞췄다. 이번 프로그램을 통해 참가자들은 기후변화 적응 보고 역량을 한층 강화하고, UNFCCC의 적응 보고 체계와 제도적 기반을 보다 효과적으로 활용할 수 있는 능력을 키웠다.
